Solar Desalination
An economic option

DRINKING WATER of acceptable quality has become a scarce commodity, especially in remote areas. In many places of the world only salty, brackish or polluted water is available.
At the same time, present water desalination methods are an energy-intensive and highly engineered matter. For remote areas and small scale demand most of the current technologies are not suitable to be downscaled.... READ MORE

Desalination - an introduction

Desalination refers to any of several processes that remove excess salt and other minerals from water in order to obtain fresh water suitable for animal consumption or irrigation, and if almost all of the salt is removed, for human consumption. Sometimes the process produces table salt as a by-product. Desalination of ocean water is common in the Middle East (because of water scarcity) and the Caribbean, and is growing fast in the USA, North Africa, Singapore, Spain, Australia and China. It is used also on ships, submarines and islands.

Water CycleGU – Water Management

Since more than two decades GU – Water Management , a business line from GU LINER SYSTEMS is one of the leading experts in the field of waste water management with a main focus in finding solutions for the enhancement of water contamination.

GU-Water Management is an international operating company, which has long-lasting, reliable and quality-conscious partners. The company's headquarter is in Austria , Europa.

GU – Water Management provides you with detailed concept information regarding to a project plan overview, when you search for the right desalination system. Economic, infrastructural and technical factors have to be discussed and analysed in order to establish the right desalination system.

The principle mode of operation of seawater desalination plants is based on evaporation of heated salt water and subsequent condensation of the resulting humid air (MEH system).

Three different sizes of desalination plants are offered:

MiniSal™1,000 , MidiSal™5,000 and MegaSal™10,000 MEH desalination systems (with daily outputs of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 litres of fresh water) are produced and distributed. The plants can be powered by thermal energy supplied by solar panels, by waste heat from block heat and power plants or by conventional gas burners.
There are also provided a complete range of accessories such as solar panels, storage solar systems, connection set for block heat and power plants, connection set for gas heaters, UV sterilization plants, mineralization plants etc.

Over all, the most important advantage of a desalination system is obvious: Decentralized desalination system enables water supply, wherever you need it!
Feel the difference!

GU Water Management is your representative and distributor for desalination systems.
